Space of Space
WebsiteFacebookInstagramThe Space of Space brand of metal furniture and interior accessories was founded by brothers Jakub and Martin Klimeš.
They started from the business of their parents, who were involved in metal painting. Jakub and Martin are architects and economists by training. They joined together and created a collection of functional objects made of one material – metal. Jakub Klimeš is behind their designs. Martin is in charge of the brand management of Space of Space. Their products work with rounded shapes, timeless design and functionality. They see metal as a noble material with lasting value. They use powder coating to give metal both a playfulness and a pleasant feel. Production takes place exclusively in the Czech Republic. They use high quality and ecological Swiss paints. They have already won several awards for their work – including the Designblok festival award, the Czech Design Award and EDIDA.
The Jupiter coffee table is one of the pilot products of the family brand. It serves as a coffee or bedside table. It also works well in a group of several pieces. Thanks to its elegant shapes and bold colours, it attracts attention but does not look aggressive. Compared to other metal products, it does not feel cold. This is due to the cheerful shades in the matt finish as well as the distinctive rounding of the plate. The prestigious online portal Dezeen.com has also recognised the successful design by nominating Jupiter for an international award in the Dezeen Awards.
Artist's exhibitions
On Chair – Balancing on the Edge of Comfort
The main motif of the exhibition is the presentation of the author’s design chairs and armchairs, which visitors can sit on (use) during the exhibition and test their function and aesthetics directly in the interior of the gallery.
Among the exhibits on display you can find a chair by Jan Plecháč, Eva Eisler, Filip Kramply, David Šesták or Kristýna Mikolášková. THE DESIGN is a space that aims to exhibit contemporary and applied art side by side in one place. The exhibition will therefore also include sculptures by Michal Janiga and textile works by Lucie Kralík Rosická.
