David Šesták
WebsiteFacebookInstagramDavid Šesták, a graduate of the D2 studio at UMPRUM, works as a designer in the family company Dílna Šesták. In his work he deals mainly with interior design. Together with his cousins, he brings the fresh wind of a new generation into the business.
David Šesták designed the Verner Panton armchair after the iconic furniture designer Verner Panton while still at university. Panton worked in designs with simple shapes and was not afraid to use rich colours. The form of the chair is based on two intersecting needles. He concentrates his distinctive colours on all the structural joints. The metal itself, on the other hand, stands out for its natural raw surface.

On Chair – Balancing on the Edge of Comfort
The main motif of the exhibition is the presentation of the author’s design chairs and armchairs, which visitors can sit on (use) during the exhibition and test their function and aesthetics directly in the interior of the gallery.
Among the exhibits on display you can find a chair by Jan Plecháč, Eva Eisler, Filip Kramply, David Šesták or Kristýna Mikolášková. THE DESIGN is a space that aims to exhibit contemporary and applied art side by side in one place. The exhibition will therefore also include sculptures by Michal Janiga and textile works by Lucie Kralík Rosická.
