LLEV is an independent studio that combines art and design.

They design furniture, interior objects and product collections for companies and galleries. Their design is based on a process that combines experimentation and research into new materials, production technologies with the integrity of traditional craftsmanship. As a result, under their hands an original, handmade range of products is created, which they produce themselves or with craftsmen in the Bohemian Paradise, Jizera Mountains and Bohemian Central Highlands.

The production of products from mycelium is a purely ecological production method. 100% natural and growing material together with agricultural crop waste or sawdust from the joinery is a unique example of ethical product production, its sustainability and sensitivity to the environment. The products are cleanly degradable and will also bring important and natural nutrients to your compost. After use, the mushroom product is naturally returned to where it was born – to nature.

The concept of the exhibition project for THE DESIGN On Chair – Balancing on the Edge of Comfort for Designblok ’23 was thematically created by curators Eva Slunečková and artist Romana Drdová.

The main motif of the exhibition is the presentation of the author’s design chairs and armchairs, which visitors can sit on (use) during the exhibition and test their function and aesthetics directly in the interior of the gallery.

Among the exhibits on display you can find a chair by Jan Plecháč, Eva Eisler, Filip Kramply, David Šesták or Kristýna Mikolášková. THE DESIGN is a space that aims to exhibit contemporary and applied art side by side in one place. The exhibition will therefore also include sculptures by Michal Janiga and textile works by Lucie Kralík Rosická.
