Lexová & Smetana
Their work ranges from product design, interiors, and shop windows to small-scale architecture. They have collaborated with companies such as Hermès, Líčírna Organics, Potten Pannen, Silk Ferries, and Klimchi, and have also designed exhibition architecture for the Czech Landscape exhibition at the Prague House in Brussels. They created the design for the Prague store of watch manufacturer Bohematic and, in collaboration with Polstrin, have already launched two successful furniture collections – Infinite and Hide & Seek, which earned them the title of Czech Grand Designer of the Year 2022 and the EDIDA 2023 award.
The designers from the Lexová & Smetana studio have incorporated their fascination with curves, angles, and waves into the Swell collection of conference and bedside tables. They used them to design multiple levels of storage shelves, which they elegantly connected and rounded off. To do this, they used the demanding technology of hand-bending plywood and solid ash wood.
The exhibition presents one of a total of four types and sizes of tables that seem to undulate before your eyes.

On Chair – Balancing on the Edge of Comfort
The main motif of the exhibition is the presentation of the author’s design chairs and armchairs, which visitors can sit on (use) during the exhibition and test their function and aesthetics directly in the interior of the gallery.
Among the exhibits on display you can find a chair by Jan Plecháč, Eva Eisler, Filip Kramply, David Šesták or Kristýna Mikolášková. THE DESIGN is a space that aims to exhibit contemporary and applied art side by side in one place. The exhibition will therefore also include sculptures by Michal Janiga and textile works by Lucie Kralík Rosická.
