Airbobags

Unique bags made from upcycled airbags
Every year, 140,000 cars end up in landfills. Every wreck has at least three and up to 25 airbags in new cars. We have a use for the vast majority of them in our collection of bags and backpacks.
We are two friends, moms and designers who care about the world our children will live in. At the beginning of our project, we set ourselves the task of finding a material for making bags that exists and whose production will not create any additional ecological burden. On the contrary, by upcycling it, we are helping to solve the problem of waste that would otherwise end up in landfills. At the same time, it meets high technical and aesthetic quality requirements. We found this “perfect material” in scrap yards. The airbags are made from extremely durable nylon fibre, also known as Cordura.
Recycled materials and components
Airbags are made up of a large number of components, we source these from companies that have no further use for it as scrap or deadstock material. Or we use the best quality possible like YKK zippers or metal components that last for ages.
Local production
The whole cycle from sourcing the material, to production, to the eco-friendly packaging of our bags on their way to our customers is important to us. All fabrics and the vast majority of materials are sourced locally in the Czech Republic. We design and sew the bags under fair conditions in our workshop in Brno.
