Tereza Chytilová graduated from the atelier of clothing and footwear design. Her diploma thesis was the Middle Class Homeless collection.

Middle Class Homeless
Due to the housing crisis, young middle-class people are missing the permanent home that generations before them owned. For these modern urban nomads, I therefore design a collection of “bags” that will help them move and become their imaginary snail shell. I use embroidery to give volume to a rectangle of fabric, as used in folk culture to carry things, but also strength at the joints. The embroidery, which here ironically critiques rental housing, is not a decoration but a functional structural element and a carrier of meaning. The result is four products: a shopping bag, a raincoat, an apron and a loom. All of them can be easily packed into a rucksack or unfolded for storage.
