Poš - portrét

Martin Poš has the heart and soul of a ceramicist who has returned to his craft after years and is looking for new directions in which his work will continue. In the 1990s, he trained as a ceramicist and potter.

This year, his work focuses on color minimalism and expression, which is manifested in the unusual shapes of his objects. His ceramics and porcelain can be recognized by the symbolic fingerprints that created the perfect shape on the circle, then bent and crumpled it, thus referring to the original malleability of this material.

Golden Kiss. Collection of fine porcelain cups. Each cup has been personally tested by the fairy at the magic well, where the forest is the deepest. Her golden lipstick is safe for health, but not washable.

Mother of Pearl. Holographic porcelain collection. Inspired by nature and the universe. The shell and the space rocket.

Initial Structures. I present here my contemporary work, in which natural phenomena and modern ceramic techniques meet. This collection represents the deep connection between nature and man through materials and forms inspired by the geological processes that shape our planet.

I am inspired by the material, process and early origins of ceramic vessels from the beginning of human history. I am interested in natural phenomena such as volcanic activity, rock structure, sediments and erosion.

I work with traditional Czech porcelain and stoneware. Each piece is hand-turned on a potter’s wheel and further modelled. The objects are decorated using a traditional technique of applying precious metal compounds and re-fired. Their surface bears fine cracks and structures that resemble eroded rocks or soil. The series uses innovative techniques and experimental processes that combine traditional craftsmanship with modern technology.
