Tomáš Kurečka
FacebookInstagramHistory is a catalogue of motifs, shapes and themes for Tomáš Kurečka (1994), who, after a year of studying at Jiří Surůvka’s New Media Studio in Ostrava, went on to the studios of Milan Knížák’s Intermedia (2014-2015), Jiří Sopek’s Painting (2015-2016) and Milena Dopitová’s Intermedia (2016-2020) at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, where he studies and combines them with research interest and ease and playfulness.
The conceptual approach to the sources of inspiration is balanced by a romantic attitude. Ambivalence also lies in the intermingling of irony and emotion, eroticism and perversion. Tomáš Kurečka builds an environment – a scene – a place of possible acts out of small details – clues. Using various artistic means, he reflects contemporary and historical attitudes of thought and aesthetics, creating an impressive connection between design and fashion and a philosophical essay.
